Hello! I am Dorothy Grace Franklin (she/ her), an overall creative person, with a passion for literature, history, art and theatre.

My main subjects of interest are english literature, classical history & art history, and currently, I am a Classical Ambassador for the LSA Classical Association. I plan to pursue further education, and later, a career in classical academia as a Professor.

About Me

As of late, I am an Ambassador for the LSA Classical Association branch. I am a also a staff writer and social media director for Curtain Call Magazine, and I write literature reviews, criticisms and appreciations for my bookstagram and book blog ‘Dorothy’s Bookshelf’ I also run the business. Doodles By Dotty, and write poetry, some of which has been published. In my free time, I enjoy writing music, partaking in amateur acting and making content on YouTube.

Past Experience

Editor-in-Chief & Founder, May Flowers Zine
(2019 – 2020)
Established an online magazine, to give young people a space to express themselves and have a platform to share their art. Oversaw and ran projects. Conducted remote job interviews. Accepted and declined poetical and artistic submissions.

At only 7 years old, I wrote my first book: “Little Book of Jokes”, based on phone conversations with my Dad while he was serving in Afghanistan. This book, alongside its sequel, “Little Book of Jokes: 100 Jokes for 100 Years”, went on to raise lots of money for the Poppy Appeal. Because of these achievements, I received the 100th Points of Light award from British Prime Minister David Cameron, as well as the Young Person’s Award from Stockton Borough Council, and a nomination for the Gazette’s Young Community Champion award. In May of 2020, I released my debut single, “Changing Seasons (Live)”, which I wrote, produced and published myself. Since then, I have been releasing covers on my YouTube channel, and aspire to one day release an EP. I am actively working on a LoFi project.
